WAREHOUSE GOODS IN SUPERVISOR
The Job
The position will report to the warehouse and distribution manager. The purpose of the job is to help the warehouse and distribution manager and other members of his team to provide a consistently reliable high standard of customer service. The role will be much more warehouse than office based working alongside the warehouse operatives. The supervisor will be responsible for the accurate and efficient operation of goods in procedures including receiving and checking deliveries and putting stock away. Main duties will include:
- Ensuring deliveries are offloaded and checked in quickly and accurately
- Stock is managed efficently and located correctly
- Ensuring stock returns are managed efficiently
- Maintenance and utilisation of operating equipment
- Supervision and scheduling of warehouse staff
- Maintaining clean, tidy, safe and secure warehouse, yard and vehicle environments
- Administration procedures to comply with company policies and standards
- Ensuring compliance with safe working practices
The supervisor will work alongside two other warehouse based supervisors all reporting to the Warehouse and Distribution manager, the role will include performing other tasks when needed to ensure smooth running of the warehouse, other duties may include:
- Picking procedure and control
- Order picking
- Vehicle loading and route planning
- Vehicle utilisation
The Person
- 2 years previous experience in a supervisory role in a busy warehouse and transport operation
- Experience in a warehouse supplying split/part box and single item quantities.
- Seeking an opportunity for personal and career development
- Good basic education including Maths and English at GCSE grade C or better
- Commercial and motivated attitude
- Ability to control and guide a small team and maintain discipline
- IT literate
- Self discipline and good standard of personal presentation and behaviour
- Must hold current reach and counterbalance forklift licenses.
